Maratone Studios facts for kids
Maratone is a music production company based in Stockholm, Sweden. It was started in January 2001 by two famous music producers and songwriters, Max Martin and Tom Talomaa. A music production company helps artists create their songs, from writing the music to recording it.
Maratone began after another well-known studio, Cheiron Studios, closed down. Maratone then moved into Cosmos Studios. This studio used to be called Abbey Road/EMI Studios before Kent Isaacs bought it. Cosmos Studios works closely with Cosmos Music Group.
Some of the very first songs made at Maratone were for Britney Spears' third album, Britney. Today, the main team at Maratone includes Max Martin, Rami Yacoub, and Arnthor Birgisson. Another early member, Alexandra Talomaa, later started her own company called "Maridox Songs."
Max Martin, working with Dr. Luke, created a new sound at Maratone. This sound was different from his earlier "Cheiron sound." He used more rock elements in songs like Kelly Clarkson's hits "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes." This new style became very popular. Max Martin has continued to create hits with this sound for many big artists. These include Taylor Swift, Pink, Katy Perry, and a-ha.
