Marc Martel was born in Montreal, Canada. He grew up loving music. He went to Briercrest College and Seminary in Caronport, Saskatchewan. There, he met his friend Jason Germain. Together, they started the band Downhere with other friends.
Downhere: The Band Years (1999–2012)
The band Downhere worked hard on their music. They toured around, playing their songs. After college, they moved to Nashville, Tennessee. This city is famous for its music scene.
Downhere signed with a record label. They released 10 albums. They also won many awards for their music. These included Juno Awards and Dove Awards. The band decided to take a break in 2013.

Becoming a Queen Sensation
In 2011, Marc entered a special contest. It was to join the Queen Extravaganza project. This project was created by Roger Taylor. He is the original drummer for Queen.
Marc posted a video of himself singing "Somebody to Love". This is a classic Queen song. The video quickly became super popular. It got over a million views in just a few days! He even appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Marc won the contest. He then toured with The Queen Extravaganza. He performed with them until 2016.

Marc Martel released his first solo music in 2013. It was an EP called Prelude. An EP is like a mini-album. His first full album, Impersonator, came out in 2014.
He also worked on music for video games. In 2016, he sang "Last Christmas" for Just Dance 2017. He also covered "Footloose" for Just Dance 2018.
In 2017, Marc joined a new group. It was called the Ultimate Queen Celebration. He continued to perform Queen's music.
