Marcus Browne (born November 10, 1990) is an American professional boxer. He competes in the light heavyweight division. He is known for his powerful punches and southpaw (left-handed) fighting style.

Marcus Browne's Boxing Journey
Starting Out as a Pro
Marcus Browne began his professional boxing career on November 9, 2012. He was 21 years old. Before turning pro, he competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics. His first professional fight was in Indio, California. He won by technical knockout in the third round.
A month later, he won again with a first-round knockout. In 2013, his first full year as a pro, Marcus fought six times. He won all six fights. Five of these wins were by knockout. He often fought at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
In April 2014, Marcus faced Otis Griffin. This was a bigger challenge for him. Marcus won the fight by a clear decision. He continued to win his fights. In December 2014, he fought George Blades. Blades was much heavier than Marcus. Despite this, Marcus won in the first round.
In 2015, Marcus fought Aaron Pryor Jr. Marcus won when Pryor Jr. stopped fighting after the sixth round. A month later, he faced Cornelius White. Marcus won this fight by a unanimous decision. This was his first time fighting for ten rounds.
Later in 2015, Marcus Browne fought Gabriel Campillo. Campillo was a former champion. Marcus knocked him down twice in the first round. He won by knockout in less than a minute. He then fought Francisco Sierra. Marcus won this fight by technical knockout in the fourth round.
Climbing the Ranks
Browne vs. Kalajdzic
In April 2016, Marcus Browne fought for his first title. He challenged Radivoje Kalajdzic for the vacant WBC USNBC light heavyweight title. The fight was held at the Barclays Center. Marcus won by a split decision after eight rounds. This means two judges scored it for Marcus, and one for Kalajdzic. With this win, Marcus earned his first title.
Browne vs. Williams Jr.
In February 2017, Marcus Browne stepped up his competition again. He fought Thomas Williams Jr.. Marcus knocked Williams down three times. He stopped Williams in the sixth round. After this win, Marcus called out the WBC champion, Adonis Stevenson.
Browne vs. Monaghan
Marcus Browne fought Sean Monaghan in July 2017. The fight took place in Uniondale, New York. Marcus won by technical knockout in the second round. He started strong and landed many punches. The referee stopped the fight quickly. Marcus praised Monaghan after the fight. He also called out WBC champion Adonis Stevenson again.
Browne vs. Ntetu (First Fight)
In January 2018, Marcus Browne fought Francy Ntetu. Marcus did not let Ntetu get into the fight. He stopped Ntetu in the first round. Marcus knocked Ntetu down with a strong combination. The referee stopped the fight soon after.
Browne vs. Castillo
In August 2018, Marcus Browne returned to the Nassau Coliseum. He fought Lenin Castillo. Marcus won by a unanimous decision after ten rounds. In the fifth round, Marcus was knocked down. However, he quickly recovered. He then took control of the fight again.
Browne vs. Jack
In January 2019, Marcus Browne fought Badou Jack. This was a big fight on a major event. It was for the WBA Interim light heavyweight title. Marcus used his speed and power. He won by a clear unanimous decision after 12 rounds. Jack suffered a bad cut during the fight. After the fight, Jack congratulated Marcus. He said Marcus was the better fighter that night.
Browne vs. Pascal
On August 3, 2019, Marcus Browne fought former world champion Jean Pascal. Marcus started the fight well. He landed good punches in the early rounds. However, Pascal turned the fight around. Browne vs. Beterbiev
In December 2021, Marcus Browne fought Artur Beterbiev. Beterbiev was the unified light heavyweight champion. The fight was for Beterbiev's WBC and IBF titles. Marcus was knocked down in the seventh round. He was knocked down again in the ninth round by a left uppercut. Marcus could not get up in time. Beterbiev won the fight by knockout.
