Marcus Haley (born October 5, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.) is a famous American bodybuilder. He is known by his nickname, Haley's Comet. Before he started lifting weights, Marcus helped take care of his four younger brothers. He was a great athlete in high school, playing running back and defensive back. He even earned a scholarship to Dakota Wesleyan University. After two years at the university, he returned home.
Marcus looked up to other bodybuilders like Shawn Ray and Mike Ashley when he was young. In Las Vegas, he began training at Gold's Gym. He met a female bodybuilder named Gabby there. His very first bodybuilding competition was the Gold's Gym Classic in Las Vegas. He placed third in that show.

Becoming a Professional Bodybuilder
Marcus Haley earned his professional card from the IFBB in 2005. He won first place in the Super Heavyweight division at the 2005 USA Bodybuilding/Figure Championships. Another famous bodybuilder, Phil Heath, won the overall title at that same event.
In 2007, Marcus competed in the Ironman Pro contest. He placed fifth, which qualified him for his first Mr. Olympia competition that year.
Awards and Recognition
At the 2007 Arnold Classic, Marcus Haley placed 12th. He also won a special "Best Poser" award at this event. This award recognized his excellent posing routine on stage.
Life Today
Marcus Haley lives in Peoria, Arizona. He runs a fitness group called Team Comet Fitness. This group helps people prepare for bodybuilding contests and live a healthy lifestyle.
