Marianao is a part of Havana, the capital city of Cuba. It's one of the 15 areas, or municipios (that's Spanish for municipalities), that make up Havana. Marianao is located about 6 miles southwest of the original city center. A railway line connects it to the rest of Havana.
In 2022, about 134,057 people lived in Marianao. The area is built on hills that are about 1500 feet above sea level. People often say Marianao has a very healthy climate. The city itself started way back in 1830.

The monument is shaped like a syringe, which is a tool doctors use. You can find it where Calles 100 and 31 meet, near several big hospitals.
Marianao is also known for the famous Tropicana Club. This club is a well-known entertainment spot. It was also once home to the Oriental Park Racetrack, where horse races took place.
