Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is an exciting role-playing game released for the Nintendo DS in 2009. It's the third game in the popular Mario & Luigi series, following Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. This game is super unique because you get to play as not only Mario and Luigi but also as their biggest enemy, Bowser! Later, in 2018 and 2019, the game got a cool remake for the Nintendo 3DS called Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey.

The Crazy Story Begins

This adventure starts when a strange new sickness called the "Blorbs" spreads across the Mushroom Kingdom. This disease makes Toads swell up into giant, round shapes. Princess Peach calls a meeting to find a cure.

Bowser's Big Mistake

Bowser crashes the meeting, as he often does. But then, a mysterious villain named Fawful appears. Fawful tricks Bowser into eating a special mushroom. This mushroom makes Bowser suck up everything around him like a vacuum cleaner! He swallows Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, and many other characters.

Inside Bowser's Body

Mario and Luigi find themselves trapped inside Bowser's body. They must explore different areas within him, like his stomach, lungs, and even his brain. Meanwhile, Bowser is outside, trying to figure out what happened and get his castle back from Fawful.

Unique Ways to Play

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story lets you switch between two very different adventures. You control Mario and Luigi inside Bowser, and you also control Bowser himself in the outside world.

Playing as Mario and Luigi

When you play as Mario and Luigi, you explore Bowser's insides. You solve puzzles and fight enemies that are actually parts of Bowser's body or things he swallowed. Sometimes, their actions inside Bowser can even affect what happens to Bowser in the outside world! For example, if Mario and Luigi make Bowser's muscles stronger, he can lift heavier objects.

Playing as Bowser

When you play as Bowser, you stomp around the Mushroom Kingdom. You use his fiery breath and powerful punches to defeat enemies and break obstacles. Bowser's battles are bigger and more action-packed, often using the Nintendo DS's touch screen or microphone. He even has giant boss battles where he grows to an enormous size!

Why This Game Is Special

This game is loved for its funny story and clever gameplay. The way Mario and Luigi's adventure inside Bowser connects with Bowser's journey outside is very creative.

Fun and Humor

The game is full of funny moments and witty dialogue. Bowser's reactions to having Mario and Luigi inside him are hilarious. The characters' personalities shine through, making the adventure even more enjoyable.

Exciting Battles

Both Mario and Luigi, and Bowser, have their own unique battle styles. Mario and Luigi use timed attacks and special "Bros. Attacks" that require teamwork. Bowser uses powerful physical attacks and special moves that often involve the DS's unique features. Learning to master both styles is a big part of the fun.
