Mario Party is a super fun video game that started the whole Mario Party series! It's like a big digital board game where you play with your favorite Mario characters. This game was made by the Japanese company Nintendo and their partner, Hudson Soft. It first came out in 1998 for the Nintendo 64 console.

What is Mario Party?

Mario Party is a special kind of party game. It mixes a classic board game with lots of mini-games. Up to four players can join in, choosing characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and more. The main goal is to collect the most Stars by the end of the game.

How to Play the Game

The game is played on a virtual board, much like a real board game. Players roll a dice block to move their character around the board. Each space on the board can do something different. Some spaces give you coins, while others might make you lose them.

Mini-Games and Fun

After everyone has moved, a mini-game starts! There are over 50 different mini-games in Mario Party. These mini-games are short, fun challenges that test your skills. They can be anything from racing to collecting items or even dodging obstacles. The player who wins the mini-game usually gets coins, which are important for buying Stars.

Collecting Stars

Stars are the most important thing to collect in Mario Party. You can buy a Star from Toad for 20 coins. Toad moves to a new spot on the board after each Star is bought. Sometimes, Bowser might appear and try to make things difficult for players! The player with the most Stars at the end of the game wins.

Game Modes

Mario Party offers different ways to play. You can play by yourself against computer players, or you can play with friends.

Adventure Mode

This is the main way to play the game. You pick a board and try to get the most Stars. It's a great way to learn the game and have fun with friends.

Mini-Game Island

If you want to practice or just play mini-games, you can visit Mini-Game Island. Here, you can play all the mini-games you've unlocked without playing the full board game. It's perfect for quick fun!

Development and Release

Mario Party was developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo. It was first released in Japan on December 14, 1998. Soon after, it came to North America on February 8, 1999, and then to Europe on March 9, 1999. The game was a big hit and led to many more games in the Mario Party series.
