Mark Anthony Wade (born October 15, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a 5-foot-11-inch (1.8 m) tall and 160-pound (72.6 kg) heavy point guard.
Wade played college basketball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In the 1986–87 season, he set an amazing NCAA record. He had 406 assists in just 38 games! An assist is when a player passes the ball to a teammate who then scores.
After college, Mark Wade played in the NBA. He was with the Golden State Warriors during the 1987–88 NBA season. He also played one game for the Dallas Mavericks in the 1989–90 NBA season.
Mark Wade's Coaching Career
After his playing days, Mark Wade became a basketball coach. He helped guide young players and teams.
Assistant Coach Roles
In 2002, Wade became an assistant coach for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's basketball team.
Before that, he worked as an assistant coach at several other places. These included Long Island University-Southampton and Florida Atlantic University. He also coached at Cheyenne High School.
Mark Wade even had a special role as a player-assistant coach. He did this with the International Basketball League's Las Vegas Silver Bandits. This meant he was both playing and helping to coach the team at the same time.
