In 2009, Marta joined CB Avenida in Salamanca. This was a very successful time for her. Over six seasons, she helped her team win two Spanish League titles and three Spanish Cup championships. She also won the prestigious EuroLeague in the 2010–11 season.
Playing in the WNBA and Europe
From 2015 to 2016, Marta played for two different teams each year. During the American basketball season, she played for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. In the European season, she played for USK Praha in the Czech Republic. With USK Praha, she won the Czech League championship three times in a row, from 2016 to 2018.
Marta decided not to play in the WNBA in 2017 and 2018. This was because she was very busy playing for the Spanish national team.
