History of the Gostwyck Butter Factory
Martins Creek once had a butter factory called the Gostwyck Butter Factory. It was located at 112 Dungog Road.
Factory Ownership and Operation
The factory was first owned by the Raymond Co-Operative Dairy Company. It officially opened on 18 June 1908. A few years later, in 1915, a company called Peters American Delicacy Company bought the factory.
In 1926, Peters sold the factory back to the Raymond Co-Operative Dairy Company. However, the factory did not stay open for long after that. It closed its doors in 1927.
