Marty Klyne was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He grew up there and later went to the University of Regina. He is married to Charlene Klyne and they have two children.

Education and Early Career

Marty Klyne studied at the University of Regina. In 1986, he graduated with high honors. He earned a degree in business administration, focusing on finance. After finishing university, he quickly started his career in banking. He became a manager at the Mercantile Bank of Canada. This bank is now known as the Toronto-Dominion Bank.

A Career in Leadership

Marty Klyne has held many important leadership roles throughout his career. He has worked in different areas, from sports to education and even newspapers.

Leading the RCMP Heritage Centre

From March 2017 to August 2018, Klyne was the chief executive officer (CEO) of the RCMP Heritage Centre. A CEO is the top manager of an organization. His main goal was to help the centre grow. He wanted to make sure it continued to honor the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Working with a Hockey Team

Marty Klyne also worked in professional sports. From May 2015 to January 2017, he was the chief operating officer (COO) for the Regina Pats Hockey Club. A COO helps manage the daily activities of a business. He worked closely with the team's president. He also worked with John Paddock, who managed the hockey side of things.

Teaching at University

Before his roles in sports and heritage, Klyne was a teacher. From January 2013 to May 2015, he taught at the First Nations University of Canada. He was an instructor and lecturer. He taught several business administration courses to students.

Marty Klyne also managed two big newspapers in Saskatchewan. These were the Regina Leader-Post and The StarPhoenix. During his time, he helped these newspapers become very successful. They performed better than many larger newspapers across Canada.
