Maruchan (マルちゃん, Maru-chan) is a very popular brand of instant ramen noodles. They also make cup noodles and Yakisoba. A Japanese company called Toyo Suisan from Tokyo, Japan, makes these products.

The name Maruchan is used for noodle products in Japan. It is also the name for Toyo Suisan's company in the United States, called Maruchan Inc. In 1972, Toyo Suisan started selling its products in the American market with Maruchan USA. By 1977, they built a factory in Irvine, California.

In 1972, they started Maruchan USA there. At first, Maruchan USA only imported and sold ramen from Japan. After five years, Maruchan built its own factory. This factory was in Irvine, California, and opened in 1977. That's when they started making Maruchan brand ramen in the U.S. Since 1977, Maruchan has grown a lot. It is now a top company in North America. Other popular instant noodle brands include Top Ramen and Sapporo Ichiban.

The name Maruchan is a Japanese word. It is made of two parts: maru and chan.
