Mary Jane Watson is a famous fictional character from Marvel Comics. She was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Mary Jane is a close friend of Peter Parker. She later becomes his girlfriend. Peter first decides to stop dating her because he is secretly the superhero Spider-Man. He worries she would be in danger. However, she later finds out his secret. They then start dating again and eventually get married.

Mary Jane Watson appears in the Spider-Man movies directed by Sam Raimi. She is played by actress Kirsten Dunst.
In the 2002 Spider-Man film, Mary Jane is one of the few students who is kind to Peter Parker at their high school. She also becomes friends with Peter's best friend, Harry Osborn. Mary Jane dates Flash Thompson, but she does not like it when he bullies Peter.
After Peter is bitten by a special spider, he no longer needs his glasses. Mary Jane tells him he looks good. Later, Peter defends himself against Flash Thompson and Mary Jane breaks up with Flash. She then starts dating Harry Osborn.
Harry's father, Norman Osborn, says mean things about Mary Jane. He suggests she only cares about Harry's money. Mary Jane overhears this and calls Norman "a creep." Harry defends his father, and Mary Jane breaks up with him.
Mary Jane later falls in love with Spider-Man after he saves her from danger. Harry sees Mary Jane talking to Peter and realizes they have feelings for each other. Norman Osborn, who is secretly the supervillain the Green Goblin, finds out Peter is Spider-Man. He kidnaps Mary Jane to get to Peter. Spider-Man rescues her and defeats the Green Goblin. Mary Jane tells Peter she loves him, but Peter says he can only be her friend to keep her safe.
In Spider-Man 2, Mary Jane accidentally unmasks Spider-Man when he saves her from Dr. Octopus. They then begin dating. In Spider-Man 3, Mary Jane breaks up with Peter for a while. This happens after he starts acting mean to people. By the end of the movie, Peter becomes a good person again. He and Mary Jane get back together.
