Mathieu Kassovitz (born August 3, 1967) is a talented French actor, film director, producer, and writer. He has won several important awards for his work. These include three César Awards, which are like the French Oscars.
He won "Most Promising Actor" for his role in the film See How They Fall (1994). He also won "Best Film" and "Best Editing" for his movie La Haine (1995).

Mathieu Kassovitz was born in Paris, France. His father, Peter Kassovitz, is a film producer, director, and writer. His mother, Chantal Rémy, works as a film editor.
His father is a Hungarian Jew who moved from Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Mathieu has said that he grew up with a lot of "Jewish humor."
Career as a Filmmaker
As a filmmaker, Mathieu Kassovitz has created many popular and successful movies. He wrote and directed La Haine (which means Hate in English) in 1995. This film explored important topics like social class, race, and violence. It also looked at how police interact with people.
La Haine won the César Award for Best Film. Kassovitz also won the "Best Director" award at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival for this movie.

Mathieu Kassovitz was married to French actress Julie Mauduech. She also appeared in his 1993 film Métisse and had a small part in La Haine.
