Wilbur Maurice Harris (born February 21, 1976) is an American boxer. He is known by his nickname, "Sugar Moe". Maurice Harris used to be the champion of the United States Boxing Association (USBA) in the heavyweight division.

He started his professional boxing career in 1992. Over the years, he has won important fights against boxers like Siarhei Liakhovich and David Izon. He also fought many famous world champions and top contenders.

Maurice Harris's Boxing Journey

Maurice Harris became a professional boxer when he was 16 years old in 1992. He started in the light heavyweight division. Early in his career, he fought against many rising stars and experienced champions.

In 1992, he tried to win the USBA heavyweight title. He lost a 12-round fight to Chris Byrd, who later became a world heavyweight champion.

Key Fights and Wins

In 1997, Maurice Harris had a close fight with former champion Larry Holmes. The judges made a split decision, meaning they didn't all agree on who won. Harris lost this fight.

After that, he went on a winning streak. He won seven fights in a row between 1998 and 1999. During this time, he defeated Jeremy Williams, who was a top heavyweight contender.

He won the vacant USBA heavyweight title in his second attempt. He defeated Nagy Aguilera in a 12-round fight. This win happened in Hinckley, Minnesota.

In 2011, Harris defended his USBA heavyweight title. He won by knocking out Derric Rossy in the 12th round. This fight took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
