Mauro Colagreco was born on October 5, 1976, in La Plata, Argentina. He is a well-known Argentine chef. His restaurant, Mirazur, located in Menton, France, has received three Michelin stars.

Chef's Journey

After finishing his chef training, Mauro Colagreco moved to France. He worked with famous chefs like Bernard Loiseau, Alain Passard, and Alain Ducasse. He also spent a year at a top restaurant called Le Grand Véfour.

In 2006, Colagreco opened his own restaurant, Mirazur, in Menton. Just six months later, he won the 'Revelation of the Year' award from Gault&Millau, a famous restaurant guide. In less than a year, Mirazur earned its first Michelin star. Six years later, it received a second Michelin star.

Mirazur became one of the best restaurants in the world, listed in The S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants. In the same year, Colagreco was named "Chef of the Year" by Gault & Millau. He was the first non-French chef to receive this important title.

In January 2019, Mirazur earned its third Michelin star. Then, in June 2019, The World's 50 Best Restaurants group chose Mirazur as the best restaurant in the world.

Chef Colagreco has a unique cooking style. He loves to combine different flavors and ingredients in new ways. His cooking is not just based on his Italian-Argentine background or the chefs he worked with.

In 2022, Mauro Colagreco became the first chef ever to be named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. This means he helps promote and protect the variety of life on Earth, known as biodiversity.
