McDonald is a small town, known as a borough, located in Pennsylvania, United States. It sits partly in Allegheny County and partly in Washington County. McDonald is about 18 miles (29 km) southwest of the big city of Pittsburgh.

In 2020, the population of McDonald was 2,056 people. Most of these residents, about 1,661, lived in the Washington County part of the borough. The remaining 395 people lived in the Allegheny County section.

A stream called Robinson Run flows through the southeastern part of McDonald. This stream is a branch of Chartiers Creek.
