About Meeuwen-Gruitrode
Meeuwen-Gruitrode was a collection of smaller villages and hamlets. These smaller areas worked together as one local government.
Villages and Hamlets
The main villages that made up Meeuwen-Gruitrode were:
- Meeuwen
- Gruitrode
- Ellikom
- Neerglabbeek
- Wijshagen
It also included some smaller areas called hamlets. These were Muisven, Ophoven, Zoetebeek, Koestraat, and Plokrooi.
The Big Change
