Opglabbeek (pronounced op-GLAH-beek) was once a small town, or municipality, in Belgium. It is located in the Limburg province of Belgium.

Opglabbeek was made up of a few smaller communities. These included Opglabbeek itself, along with Nieuwe Kempen and Louwel.
A New Beginning for Opglabbeek
On January 1, 2019, something big happened for Opglabbeek. It joined with another nearby town called Meeuwen-Gruitrode. They became one new, larger municipality.
Forming Oudsbergen
This joining of towns is called a fusion. It means they combined their governments and services. The new, bigger municipality was named Oudsbergen. So, Opglabbeek is now part of Oudsbergen.
