Melawondi is a small country area in the Gympie Region of Queensland, Australia. It is about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of the town of Gympie. In 2021, only 34 people lived in Melawondi.

Melawondi is a quiet rural area. It used to have a train station called Melawondi railway station, which was part of the Mary Valley railway line. This station is no longer used today.

In October 2013, a company called Hyne Timber sold its timber mill in Melawondi. The mill, which processes wood, was bought by another company called Superior Wood Pty Ltd.
