Melawondi is a rural locality in the Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia. It is located 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Gympie. In the 2016 census Melawondi had a population of 30 people.

The name Melawondi is believed to be the name of an Aboriginal clan.

Melawondi Mill is a timber mill owned by Superior Wood Pty Ltd (26°24′40″S 152°39′45″E / 26.4110°S 152.6624°E / -26.4110; 152.6624 (Melawondi Timber Mill)). The mill employs approximately 100 people.
