A Member of the House of Keys, often called an MHK, is a person elected to represent people in the House of Keys. This is the lower house of Tynwald, which is the parliament of the Isle of Man. Think of it like the main law-making body for the island.
There are twenty-four Members of the House of Keys. They are chosen in an election that happens every five years. For example, the last election mentioned in the original records took place in November 2006. The person in charge of the House of Keys is called the Speaker of the House of Keys.
The House of Keys meets in Douglas, which is the capital of the Isle of Man. Their old meeting place, called the Old House of Keys, is in Castletown. Castletown used to be the capital, and now the Old House of Keys is a museum you can visit.
