Menna Shalaby (Arabic: منة شلبي; born on July 24, 1982) is a famous Egyptian actress. She has starred in many movies and TV shows. Menna Shalaby was even nominated for an International Emmy Award for her role in the TV series Every Week Has a Friday. This made her the first Egyptian actress to receive such an honor.

Her Early Life and Start
Menna Shalaby was born in Giza, Egypt. Her family was involved in the arts. Her mother, Zizi Mustafa, is also an actress. Her aunt, Poussy Shalabi, is a well-known media personality.
Menna started her acting journey in 2000. Actress Samiha Ayoub discovered her talent. Menna first appeared in the TV series Salma Ya Salama. Before that, she was in TV programs and children's puzzles. She also had a very small part in the 1999 movie El-Asifa.
Amazing Acting Career
Menna Shalaby's acting career officially began in 2001. She had a role in Morning and Evening Talk. This was a popular TV drama based on a story by Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz.
Her first movie role was in The Magician (2001). She starred alongside Mahmoud Abdel Aziz. After that, she appeared in films like I Love Cinema (2004) and Best of Times (2004).

In 2007, Menna Shalaby starred in Chaos, This Is, directed by Youssef Chahine. This movie was shown at big film festivals like the Venice Film Festival. She also appeared in Microphone (2010). This film won an award for Best Arabic-language film at the Cairo International Film Festival.
Menna worked with director Yousry Nasrallah on After the Battle (2012). This movie helped bring Egyptian cinema back to the Cannes Film Festival after many years. She also starred in Brooks, Meadows and Lovely Faces (2016).
One of her most important roles was in Nawara (2015). For this movie, she won many "Best Actress" awards. She then starred in films by Marwan Hamed, such as The Originals (2017) and Diamond Dust (2018). Diamond Dust was a very successful movie.
