Playing in the NBA

After playing well at Boston College, Michael Adams was picked by the Sacramento Kings. He was the 66th player chosen in the 1985 NBA draft. He is a point guard, which means he helps lead the team's offense. In his first year, he scored only 2.2 points per game.

He also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Bay State Bombardiers. In 1986, he was named the CBA Rookie of the Year. He was also chosen for the all-league and all-defensive second teams.

Adams joined the Washington Bullets in his second season. His best season was in 1990–1991 when he played for the Denver Nuggets. He scored 26.5 points and made 10.5 assists per game. In one amazing game, he scored 54 points and made 9 three-pointers!

After this great season, he went back to the Bullets. In 1992, he played in his only NBA All-Star Game. In his first game back with the Bullets, he had 9 steals, which was a career high. He also scored 23 points and made 13 assists.

Michael Adams was known for his "push shot" in basketball. He stopped playing in 1996 while with the Charlotte Hornets. During his NBA career, he scored a total of 9,621 points and made 4,209 assists. He once held a record for making a three-point shot in 79 games in a row. This record was later broken by Stephen Curry.
