Michael Jerome Reed, born on August 16, 1972, is a well-known American football coach. He also used to be a player. Currently, he works at Clemson University as an assistant head coach. He also helps with special teams and coaches the cornerbacks. Before joining Clemson, he was an assistant coach at other universities like North Carolina State University and the University of Richmond. College Football Career
Reed played college football at Boston College for four seasons. He was a talented player during his time there.
Joining the NFL
In 1995, Reed was chosen in the seventh round of the 1995 NFL draft. He was the very last player picked by the new Carolina Panthers team. This made him known as "Mr. Irrelevant" for that year's draft.
Playing Professionally
Reed played in three games for the Carolina Panthers. He made two tackles during his time with the team. He also played for two seasons in NFL Europe with the Frankfurt Galaxy.
