Mihalis Rakintzis (Μιχάλης Ρακιντζής in Greek) is a famous singer from Greece. He was born in Athens on April 3, 1957. Before becoming a solo artist, he studied Mechanical Engineering in the United Kingdom.
From 1982 to 1985, Mihalis was part of a rock band called Scraptown. They released three albums and a maxi-single. After Scraptown broke up, Mihalis Rakintzis began his successful career as a solo singer.

Working with Other Stars
In 1991, readers of Popcorn music magazine voted him "Best Singer of the Year." This showed how popular he was. Mihalis has collaborated with big international music stars. These include Ian Gillan from the famous rock band Deep Purple. He also worked with rock singer Bonnie Tyler and the group Wee Papa Girl Rappers.
Mihalis is also a talented songwriter. He has written songs for many other Greek artists. Some of these artists are Paschalis, Eleni Dimou, Dimitris Kontolazos, Sophia Arvaniti, Stelios Dionisiou, and Vassilis Karras.
Eurovision Song Contest Appearance
In 2002, Mihalis Rakintzis represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest. This big music competition was held in Tallinn. He performed his song "S.A.G.A.P.O." (which means "I Love You"). He finished in 17th place in the contest.
