Michel Larocque was born on October 3, 1976, in Lahr, West Germany. He is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played a few games in the top league, the National Hockey League (NHL), for the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2000–01 season.
Michel Larocque's Hockey Journey
Michel Larocque started his hockey career in junior leagues. He played for the Melfort Mustangs in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) from 1993 to 1995.
After junior hockey, he went to college. He played for Boston University in the Hockey East league. He played there for four seasons, from 1995 to 1999.
In 1996, the San Jose Sharks picked him in the NHL Draft. He was the 137th player chosen overall.
After college, Michel played in different minor leagues. He played for teams like the Cleveland Lumberjacks in the IHL. He also played for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Saint John Flames in the AHL.
He also spent some time with the Greensboro Generals in the ECHL. These leagues are where players often develop their skills before reaching the NHL.
Michel Larocque got to play in the NHL during the 2000–01 season. He played three games for the Chicago Blackhawks. After his time in the NHL, he continued to play for the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL. His professional career ended in 2001.
