Michelle Denise Beadle was born on October 23, 1975. She is an American sports reporter and host. Currently, she is part of the broadcast team for the San Antonio Spurs basketball team.

Before joining the Spurs, Michelle was well-known for her work at ESPN. She co-hosted popular shows like Get Up! and SportsNation. She also hosted Winners Bracket on ABC. Michelle has worked for many different TV networks throughout her career.

Early Life and School

Michelle Beadle was born in Italy. Her father, Bob Beadle, worked for a company called Valero Energy. Her mother, Serenella Paladino, was from Italy. Michelle spent her early childhood in Roanoke, Texas, and later moved to Boerne, a small town near San Antonio.

Michelle has shared that her mother was her best friend when she was growing up. This was because her mother did not speak English when she first came to America. They learned the language together. Michelle said she was a "tomboy" and had mostly male friends as a child. She finished high school at Boerne High School.

After high school, Michelle went to the University of Texas at Austin. She studied political science and thought about becoming a lawyer. She even worked at the state capitol in Austin. However, this experience made her decide that a legal career was not for her. She took some time off from school and worked different jobs, including waiting tables. Later, she went to the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated from there.

Starting Her Career

Michelle Beadle began her career with help from her father. She started as an intern for the San Antonio Spurs. Soon, she got a chance to be a reporter. She also hosted a show called Big Game Hunters for Fox Sports Net.

In 2002, Michelle worked for TNN. She was a sideline reporter for professional bull riding events. She was only supposed to fill in for two weeks, but they asked her to stay full-time. While at TNN, she also reported for CBS Sports and ESPN's Titan Games.

After that, Michelle hosted shows for the Travel Channel (Get Packing) and Major League Baseball Productions (Cathedrals of the Game). She then worked for the YES Network. There, she interviewed athletes and reported on New Jersey Nets basketball games. She also hosted shows like Kids on Deck and YES' Ultimate Road Trip. Michelle also hosted sports shows for College Sports Television and was a reporter for NFL Under the Helmet.

She also hosted many entertainment and reality shows. These included features for People.com, the Fine Living Network, Animal Planet, and the Discovery Channel. Michelle was also a red carpet reporter for big awards shows like the Golden Globes and Grammy Awards. She appeared on TV shows like The Today Show and Entertainment Tonight to share celebrity news.

Time at ESPN

Michelle Beadle joined ESPN on June 1, 2009. She became a co-host of SportsNation with Colin Cowherd. The show started on ESPN2 on July 6, 2009. Michelle was one of the last people to audition for the show. She landed the job after writing a funny list of ideas to make the show better. Before this, she had also worked as a freelance reporter for ESPN's Titan Games. She was also a SportsCenter anchor for ESPN Radio in New York.

Later, she became the co-host of Winners Bracket with Marcellus Wiley. This show was part of ESPN Sports Saturday on ABC. It first aired on April 3, 2010. Michelle also had her own weekly podcast called "The Michelle Beadle Podcast." She was a guest host on Mike and Mike in the Morning too.

Working at NBC

On May 22, 2012, it was announced that Michelle was leaving ESPN to work for the NBC networks. Her main role was as a host on NBC Sports Network. She also worked as a correspondent for Access Hollywood. She hosted NBC Sports Network's daily morning coverage of the 2012 London Olympics.

Her show, The Crossover with Beadle and Briggs, started on January 28, 2013, on the NBC Sports Network. She hosted it with Dave Briggs. The show talked about sports, pop culture, and entertainment. In May 2013, the show changed its name to The Crossover with Michelle Beadle, with Michelle as the only host. The show was canceled on September 25, 2013.

Back to ESPN

Michelle Beadle returned to ESPN on March 3, 2014. She came back as a co-host on SportsNation. She was able to leave her NBC contract early because of a special agreement between ESPN and NBC.

In July 2014, she spoke out on social media about comments made by her ESPN colleague Stephen A. Smith. His comments were about a domestic abuse case involving football player Ray Rice. This led to Smith being suspended for a week. Michelle also had a strong discussion on social media about the same topic with MTV celebrity Christopher Boykin.

In September 2014, she joined Grantland, a company owned by ESPN. She hosted a podcast there called Beadlemania.

Michelle started hosting NBA Countdown in 2016. In April 2018, she also began co-hosting a morning sports show on ESPN called Get Up! with Jalen Rose and Mike Greenberg. In August of that year, ESPN announced that Michelle would leave Get Up! to focus more on NBA coverage. In the summer of 2019, ESPN changed its NBA coverage. Michelle was replaced on NBA Countdown by Rachel Nichols and Maria Taylor. Michelle then left ESPN.

Personal Life

Michelle Beadle loves dogs very much. She is also a big fan of professional wrestling, the Houston Astros baseball team, and the San Antonio Spurs basketball team. She has two siblings: a younger brother named Robert and a younger sister.
