Michelle Denise Beadle (born October 23, 1975) is an American sports reporter and host. She is currently part of the San Antonio Spurs broadcast team. Before this, she worked for ESPN, co-hosting shows like Get Up! and SportsNation. She also hosted Winners Bracket on ABC.

Before joining ESPN in 2009, Michelle worked for several other TV networks. These included College Sports Television and the YES Network.

Early Life and Education

Michelle Beadle was born in Italy on October 23, 1975. Her father, Bob Beadle, was an executive at a company called Valero Energy. Her mother, Serenella Paladino, was from Italy. Michelle spent her early childhood in Roanoke, Texas, near Dallas. Later, she lived in Boerne, a small town close to San Antonio.

Michelle shared that her mother was her best friend growing up. This was because her mother didn't speak English when she first came to America, and they learned the language together. Michelle said she was a tomboy and mostly had male friends. She graduated from Boerne High School.

Michelle first went to the University of Texas at Austin. She studied political science, thinking she might become a lawyer. She even worked at the state capitol in Austin. However, this experience made her realize that a legal career wasn't for her. After three years, she took a break from college.

During her time off, she worked different jobs in Canada. Later, she returned to Austin and worked as a waitress while deciding her next steps. She also attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she eventually graduated.

Career Highlights

Starting Out in Sports

Michelle Beadle began her career with help from her father. She started as an intern for the San Antonio Spurs basketball team. Soon, she was given a chance to be a reporter. She also worked for Fox Sports Net, hosting a show called Big Game Hunters.

In 2002, Michelle moved to TNN. There, she was a sideline reporter for Professional Bull Riders (PBR) events. She was only supposed to fill in for two weeks but was asked to stay full-time. While at TNN, she also reported for CBS Sports on PBR events and for ESPN's Titan Games.

Exploring Different Networks

After TNN, Michelle hosted Get Packing for the Travel Channel. She also hosted Cathedrals of the Game for Major League Baseball Productions. Michelle then worked for the YES Network. She conducted interviews and reported for New Jersey Nets basketball games. She was also a sideline reporter for Nets games.

At YES, she co-hosted Kids on Deck and Sportslife NYC. She also hosted YES' Ultimate Road Trip. Michelle also hosted The 1 College Sports Show for College Sports Television. She was a reporter for the NFL Films show NFL Under the Helmet.

Michelle also hosted many other shows. These included entertainment and reality shows. She reported from the Red Carpet for big events like the Golden Globes and Grammy Awards. She also appeared on shows like The Today Show and Entertainment Tonight.

Time at ESPN

Michelle Beadle joined ESPN on June 1, 2009. She became the co-host of SportsNation with Colin Cowherd. The show started on ESPN2 on July 6, 2009. Michelle was one of the last people to audition for the show. She landed the job after writing a funny list of ideas to make the show better.

Before co-hosting SportsNation, she had also worked freelance for ESPN's Titan Games. She was also a SportsCenter anchor for ESPN Radio's The Michael Kay Show.

Later, she became the co-host of Winners Bracket with Marcellus Wiley. This show was part of ESPN Sports Saturday on ABC. It first aired on April 3, 2010. Michelle also hosted her own weekly Podcast, "The Michelle Beadle Podcast". She was also a guest host on Mike and Mike in the Morning.

Moving to NBC

On May 22, 2012, it was announced that Michelle was leaving ESPN. She moved to the NBC networks. Her main role was as a host on NBC Sports Network. She also worked as a correspondent on Access Hollywood. She anchored NBC Sports Network's daily morning coverage of the 2012 London Olympics.

Her show, The Crossover with Beadle and Briggs, started on January 28, 2013. It was on the NBC Sports Network. The show featured Michelle and Dave Briggs. It focused on sports, pop culture, and entertainment. In May 2013, the show changed its name to The Crossover with Michelle Beadle, with Michelle as the only host. The show was cancelled on September 25, 2013.

Back to ESPN

Michelle Beadle returned to ESPN on March 3, 2014. She appeared again as a co-host on SportsNation. She was able to leave her NBC contract early due to a deal between ESPN and NBC.

In September 2014, she joined Grantland, a company connected to ESPN. She hosted a podcast there called Beadlemania.

Michelle began hosting NBA Countdown in 2016. In April 2018, she also started co-hosting a morning sports show on ESPN called Get Up!. She hosted it with Jalen Rose and Mike Greenberg. In August of that year, ESPN announced that Michelle would leave Get Up! to focus on NBA coverage. In the summer of 2019, ESPN quietly removed Michelle from NBA Countdown. She then reached an agreement with ESPN to end her time at the company.

HBO – The Fight Game

In March 2015, Michelle Beadle interviewed Manny Pacquiao on HBO's The Fight Game. This was about his big fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Personal Life

Michelle Beadle loves dogs very much. She is also a big fan of professional wrestling, the Houston Astros baseball team, and the San Antonio Spurs basketball team. She has two younger siblings, a brother named Robert and a sister.
