Miguel Tendillo Belenguer is a Spanish former footballer. He was born on February 1, 1961. Miguel played as a central defender, which means his main job was to stop the other team from scoring goals.
He played football for 15 seasons, mostly for two famous Spanish teams: Valencia and Real Madrid. During his career, he played 370 matches in La Liga, Spain's top football league, and scored 28 goals. He also won ten major trophies with his teams.
Tendillo also played almost 30 times for the Spanish national team. He even represented Spain in big tournaments like the 1982 World Cup and Euro 1980.

Club Football Journey
Miguel Tendillo was born in Moncada, Valencia. He started his professional football journey with his local team, Valencia CF. He became a regular player for Valencia when he was just 18 years old. In his first full season (1979–80), he played 29 games in La Liga. That season was very special because Valencia won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Miguel even started in the final match against Arsenal.
After playing almost 300 official games for Valencia, Tendillo moved to Real Murcia CF in 1986. This happened after Valencia was moved down to a lower league. He had another strong season there. This good performance caught the eye of the powerful team Real Madrid. They wanted him to join their team.
Miguel Tendillo played for Real Madrid for five years. He was a key player for three of those years. During his time at Real Madrid, he helped the club win three league titles and three Spanish Supercups.
In 1992, Tendillo joined Real Burgos CF. He played for one season, but he could not help them stay in the top league. He retired from playing football at the end of that season when he was 32 years old. After retiring, he went back to the Mestalla Stadium, Valencia's home ground, to work with their youth teams.
Playing for Spain
Miguel Tendillo played his first game for the Spanish national team on May 21, 1980. He was not yet 20 years old. It was a friendly match against Denmark in Copenhagen, which ended in a 2–2 draw.
After this, he was chosen to play in the UEFA European Championship in 1980 and the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He played a total of 27 matches for Spain. In the 1980 European Championship, he played as a right-back.

Family Life
Football runs in Miguel Tendillo's family! His father, also named Miguel (born in 1937), was a footballer and a defender, just like him. Miguel's son, Alberto (born in 1995), also became a footballer and played as a defender. Alberto also started his football journey at Valencia.
