Michael Francis Troy (born October 3, 1940 – died August 3, 2019) was an amazing American swimmer. He was a true champion, winning two gold medals at the Olympics. He also set world records in three different swimming events!

Mike Troy was especially good at the butterfly style. He broke the world record for the 200-meter butterfly race six times in a row! Another American swimmer, Carl Robie, later broke his record in 1961.

In 1971, Mike Troy was honored for his incredible swimming career. He was added to the International Swimming Hall of Fame. This is a special place for the best swimmers in history.

Mike Troy passed away on August 3, 2019, in Arizona. He was 78 years old.
