Milford is a town located in Otsego County, New York, in the United States. In 2010, about 3,044 people lived here. The village of Milford is also found within the town. Milford town is northeast of the City of Oneonta.

Discovering Milford's Past
The first people settled in Milford around 1770. However, not many more arrived until after the American Revolutionary War.
The town was officially created in 1796. It was first called the Town of Suffrage. But in 1800, its name was changed to Milford. It was formed from a larger area known as the Town of Unadilla.

Milford covers an area of about 47.2 square miles (122.2 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 46.1 square miles (119.4 square kilometers), is land. The remaining 1.1 square miles (2.8 square kilometers) is water.
The Susquehanna River flows south through the eastern part of Milford. Another stream, Cherry Valley Creek, flows into the Susquehanna River here.
