History of Milford Center
Milford Center was first planned out in 1816. At that time, it was simply called Milford. A "plat" is like a map that shows how land is divided into lots and streets.
The village officially became a village in 1853. This means it gained its own local government.
The post office in Milford Center has had a few name changes over the years. It started as Milford in 1823. Then, in 1829, its name was changed to Milford Centre. Finally, in 1893, it became Milford Center, which is the name it still has today.
