Millburn is a lively area in the city of Inverness, located in the Highland region of Scotland. Its name comes from the Mill Burn, a small stream that flows nearby. This neighborhood is just east of the city center.
Students in Millburn attend local primary schools. For high school, they go to Millburn Academy, which is right in the neighborhood. Millburn Road runs next to the academy. It is one of the main roads that helps people get into Inverness city center from the A9 highway.
Millburn was also once famous for the Millburn distillery. This distillery made Scotch whisky for many years. It closed down in 1985. Most of the old buildings were taken down. However, part of the distillery now serves as a restaurant. A Premier Inn hotel was built right next to it.

A Loud Explosion
One old story tells of a big explosion in 1781. It happened at the city's powder magazine on Church Street. A powder magazine was a building where gunpowder was stored. Pieces of the building flew far away, landing in Millburn and even in the nearby sea.
A Special Visitor

His carriage met the city's Provost and other leaders in Millburn. The Provost was like the mayor of the city. A large crowd also gathered to greet him.
