Mira, Royal Detective is an exciting animated mystery show for kids. It's inspired by the rich culture of India. The main character, Mira, is the first South Asian hero in a Disney Junior show. It first aired in the United States on March 20, 2020. The show also premiered in Canada on March 22, 2020.
Before the first season even started, the show was already renewed for a second season! This happened on December 12, 2019.

Discovering the World of Mira: Plot Overview
The story takes place in a make-believe kingdom called Jalpur. This place looks a lot like India in the late 1800s. The show follows a brave and clever girl named Mira. She is a regular person chosen by the queen to be the royal detective.
Mira travels all over the kingdom. She helps both royal family members and everyday people solve mysteries. She has two helpful mongoose friends, Mikku and Chikku, who join her on her adventures.

Main Characters
- Mira (voiced by Leela Ladnier) — She is the main character. Queen Shanti chose her to be the royal detective of Jalpur. Mira is very good at solving puzzles.
- Mikku (voiced by Kal Penn) — A mongoose who is one of Mira's best helpers. He is Chikku's brother.
- Chikku (voiced by Utkarsh Ambudkar) — Mikku's brother and another mongoose friend. He also helps Mira solve her cases.

- Queen Shanti (voiced by Freida Pinto) — She is the Queen of Jalpur. She picked Mira to be the royal detective. She thinks of Mira like her own daughter.

Bringing India to Life: Production Details
Sascha Paladino, a producer for the show, wanted it to feel very real. They made sure to include many South Asian voices in the making of the show. This helped make sure the culture was shown correctly. She hoped the show would let people learn about a new and interesting culture. The team was inspired by Indian culture at every step.
Becca Topol developed the show. She said the show is a "celebration of Indian and South Asian culture." She was happy that kids of South Asian background would see themselves on TV. She also hoped that other kids would learn about the culture in a fun way.
The Sound of Jalpur: Music in the Show
Amritha Vaz is the main music composer for the series. Deepak Ramapriyan, a musician whose parents are from India, helps with the music. He said it was "mindblowing" to see the show come to life. He felt it was a "full-on sharing Indian culture in all of its aspects." The music is catchy and easy to dance to.
The creators watched many Bollywood movies. These movies have big musical numbers. So, they decided to have lots of dancing in the show. They used real Indian music and instruments. Nakul Dev Mahajan, a Bollywood choreographer, helped create the dances. He would film himself dancing and send the videos to the animators. The show celebrates different Indian dance styles.

Dorothea Gerassimova is the art director for the show. She was excited to show the beautiful patterns and art of India. She said it was a "fantastic opportunity" to create this world. The show uses inspiration from Indian buildings, art, colors, and fabrics.

It came to South Korea on April 29. Later, it was available on Disney+ Hotstar Premium on May 24. It also premiered in Brazil on July 20. In October, it came to Israel with Hebrew voices. It also arrived in Spain and Poland in November. The show will come to Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland, France, Rai YoYo and Disney+ Italy, and Netherlands in 2021.
