Karan Brar (born January 18, 1999) is an American actor. He is well-known for playing Chirag Gupta in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies. He also starred as Ravi Ross on the Disney Channel Original Series Jessie and its spin-off show Bunk'd.

Karan Brar was born on January 18, 1999, in Redmond, Washington. His parents are from Punjabi backgrounds. He grew up in Bothell, Washington, and has an older sister named Sabreena. Karan started acting when he was young. He took acting classes to learn more about the craft.
Karan Brar's Acting Career
Karan Brar began acting when he was 11 years old. His first big role was Chirag Gupta in the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid in 2010. Chirag was an Indian middle schooler. Karan naturally speaks with an American accent. He worked with a special coach to sound like Chirag.
More Wimpy Kid Movies
Karan played Chirag Gupta again in the movie sequel Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules in 2011. He also returned for the third Wimpy Kid movie. This film was called Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, and it came out in 2012.
Disney Channel Roles
From 2011 to 2015, Karan starred in the Disney Channel show Jessie. He played Ravi Ross, an adopted boy from India. The character of Ravi was actually changed for Karan. The show's creators were so impressed with his audition that they made the role fit him.
In 2015, a spin-off show from Jessie was announced. It was called Bunk'd. Karan continued to play Ravi Ross in this new series. That same year, he also appeared in the Disney Channel movie Invisible Sister, playing a character named George.
Other Film and TV Work
Karan has acted in other movies and TV shows too. In 2018, he had a small role in the science fiction film Pacific Rim Uprising. He also appeared in the 2020 movie Stargirl. Karan has lent his voice to animated characters as well. He voiced Prince Zandar in Sofia the First and Prince Veer in Mira, Royal Detective.

Karan Brar used to live in the Los Angeles area with his parents and older sister. Later, he moved in with fellow actors Cameron Boyce and Sophie Reynolds.
