Molly Parker (born June 30, 1972) is a talented Canadian actress, writer, and director. She is known for her many roles in both movies and TV shows.
Molly first gained attention for her role in the drama Kissed (1996). She then starred in the TV thriller Intensity (1997). Her first big American movie role was in Waking the Dead (2000). She also became well-known for her part in The Center of the World (2001), which earned her an award nomination.
In the early 2000s, Molly Parker played lead roles in several films, including Max (2002) and Nine Lives (2005). From 2004 to 2006, she starred as Alma Garret in the HBO Western TV series Deadwood. Later, she appeared in the adventure film The Road (2009) and the independent drama Trigger (2010).
In 2011, she was a guest star in the TV series Dexter. In 2014, she joined the cast of the Netflix series House of Cards as politician Jacqueline Sharp. This role earned her a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award.

About Molly Parker
Early Life and Training (1972–1990)
Molly Parker was born on June 30, 1972, in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada. This is a town near Vancouver. She grew up on a farm in Pitt Meadows with her younger brother, Henry. Her parents owned a seafood store.
From age 3 to 17, Molly trained in ballet. She even performed for three years with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company.
Molly started acting in local plays when she was 14. She had roles in various Canadian TV shows early in her career. Later, she studied acting at Vancouver's Gastown Actors' Studio.
First Roles and Breakthrough (1991–2001)
In 1993, Molly Parker had a supporting role in the teen comedy Just One of the Girls. She also appeared in the TV thriller The Substitute. In 1995, she played Alice Ramsey in an episode of Highlander: The Series.
She also appeared in the TV movie Serving in Silence (1995). In this film, she played the daughter of a military officer. Molly also had a small role as a nurse in the Western movie Last of the Dogmen (1995). She was in the holiday TV film Ebbie (1995), a modern version of A Christmas Carol.
Molly won a Gemini Award nomination for her role in the Canadian TV film Paris or Somewhere. In 1996, she won the Genie Award for Best Actress for her work in Kissed. Molly continued her TV work, starring as Abby McDeere in the thriller series The Firm (2012). This show was based on a John Grisham novel. Molly also played Pauline Pfeiffer, the second wife of Ernest Hemingway, in the HBO TV film Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012).
In 2014, she appeared as Congresswoman Jacqueline Sharp in the second season of the Netflix series House of Cards. Molly continued in this role for seasons 3 and 4. For her performance in the fourth season, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. In early 2015, Molly appeared in a stage play called Harper Regan in Toronto.
Molly was later cast in the thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax (2016). Also in 2016, she co-starred in the Amazon Studios legal series Goliath. Molly co-starred in the 2018 film Madeline's Madeline. Starting in 2018, Molly played Maureen Robinson in Lost in Space, the Netflix remake of the 1965 TV series. Molly returned to her role as Alma Garret for the HBO TV film Deadwood: The Movie, released in May 2019. In March 2021, it was announced that she would play Mrs. Darling in Disney+'s Peter Pan & Wendy.
