First Climbers

The first recorded climb to the top of Mons Peak happened on July 31, 1902. This challenging ascent was made by a famous mountaineer named James Outram.

Outram was guided by Christian Kaufmann, a skilled alpine guide. Together, they successfully reached the summit. Their climb was an important moment in the exploration of the Canadian Rockies. It showed that even very high and difficult peaks could be conquered.
