Monte Grande is home to a beautiful natural spot called Quebrada Los Chorros. This is a stream or small river that adds to the natural beauty of the area. It's a great place to see some of the local plant life.
A Glimpse into Monte Grande's Past
Monte Grande, like the rest of Puerto Rico, has an interesting history. After the Spanish–American War in 1898, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This was part of an agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Because of this, Puerto Rico became an unincorporated territory of the United States. This means it's a part of the U.S. but doesn't have all the same rights as a state.
