Montezuma is a small town in Parke County, Indiana, in the United States. It's located in Reserve Township, and a small part extends into Wabash Township. In 2010, about 1,022 people lived there. Montezuma is about 66 miles west of Indianapolis, which is the capital city of Indiana.

History of Montezuma
Montezuma was first planned out around 1824. The town got its name from Moctezuma II, who was a famous ruler of the Aztec Empire. A place for sending and receiving mail, called a post office, has been open in Montezuma since 1825.
On June 17, 2021, Montezuma experienced a small earthquake. It measured 3.8 on the moment magnitude scale, which is a way to measure how strong an earthquake is.
Where is Montezuma?
Montezuma is located right next to the Wabash River. This river forms the western border of Parke County. A major road, U.S. Route 36, crosses the Wabash River right here in Montezuma.
According to information from 2010, the town covers a total area of about 0.6 square miles (1.57 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large lakes or rivers within the town's official boundaries.
