Montrose, also known as Sibley City, is a small community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. It is located right on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay.

Montrose is part of a larger area that includes the towns of Daphne, Fairhope, and Foley. This area is called a Micropolitan Statistical Area, which means it's a city-like region with a population between 10,000 and 50,000 people. Montrose has two places that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are the Henry Stuart House and the Montrose Historic District. This means they are important historical sites.

History of Montrose

The community of Montrose was first known as Sibley City. It was named after Cyrus Sibley, who owned a lot of land there a long time ago. Later, its name was changed to Montrose. This new name was chosen to honor a town called Montrose in Scotland. The first post office in Montrose opened in 1879.
