What's in a Name?
The name Moordener Kill comes from Dutch words. Moordenaar is the modern Dutch word for "murderer." The word kill means "creek" in Dutch. So, the name translates to "Murderer Creek."
Why the Name "Murderer Creek"?
The creek got its name from a historical event that happened in 1643. This area was once settled by Dutch people.
