Morena Silva de Vaz Setta Baccarin (born June 2, 1979) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in many popular TV shows and movies.

You might know her as Inara Serra from the sci-fi series Firefly and its movie Serenity. She also played Vanessa in the superhero comedy films Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Deadpool & Wolverine. Morena also starred as Jessica Brody in the thriller series Homeland and Leslie Thompkins in the superhero series Gotham. For her work in Homeland, she was nominated for a big award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013.

Morena Baccarin's Early Life

Morena Silva de Vaz Setta Baccarin was born on June 2, 1979. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her mother, Vera Setta, is an actress, and her father, Fernando Baccarin, is a journalist. Her family has some Italian roots from her father's side.

When she was young, Morena went to Public School 41 and the New York City Lab School. Interestingly, her future co-star from Homeland, Claire Danes, was also a classmate there. Later, Morena studied acting at the famous Juilliard School. She was part of their drama program from 1996 to 2000.

Her Acting Journey

Morena Baccarin started her acting career in 2001. Her first movie role was in a comedy film called Perfume. After that, she got a main role in another movie, Way Off Broadway.
