History of Morrisville
Morrisville was started in 1870 by a person named Morris Mitchell. The city was named after him. A post office has been open in Morrisville since 1872, helping people send and receive mail.
Geography and Location
Morrisville is located along Missouri Route 215. It is about 5.5 miles (9 km) east of Eudora and 4.5 miles (7 km) west of Brighton. The Little Sac River flows about two miles (3 km) southeast of the city.
The city covers a total area of about 0.64 square miles (1.66 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
