Mortal Kombat X is an exciting fighting game where players battle each other. It was made by NetherRealm Studios and released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. This game is the tenth main part of the popular Mortal Kombat series.
The game first came out on April 3, 2015, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows computers. A version for iOS devices, like iPhones and iPads, was released a few days later on April 7, 2015.
Mortal Kombat X quickly became the fastest-selling game in the Mortal Kombat series. Ed Boon, who created the series, said it was the "biggest launch in Mortal Kombat history." This means more people bought it when it first came out than any other game in the series.

How the Game Was Made
Just like the previous game, Mortal Kombat (2011), Mortal Kombat X uses an energy meter. This meter lets players use special moves, including powerful "X-Ray moves." These moves show a close-up of the damage being done to the opponent. The system for these moves was made even better in Mortal Kombat X.
Players can also use parts of the fighting area to their advantage. For example, they can bounce off walls to move around quickly or even pick up objects from the environment to use as weapons. Each fighter in the game has three different fighting styles. This means you can choose a different way to play each character. The game makers also planned for a strong online system, so players could easily connect and fight against others around the world.
New Characters in the Game
Several new fighters were added to Mortal Kombat X. These new characters brought fresh fighting styles and stories to the game.
- D'Vorah: She is a unique character who can control insects.
- Ferra/Torr: This is a team of two fighters. Ferra is a small girl, and Torr is a giant masked brute who carries her.
- Cassie Cage: She is the daughter of two well-known Mortal Kombat characters, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade.
- Kotal Kahn: This character was a mystery at first, but he became an important part of the story.
According to Ed Boon, the main bad guy in the game was a "surprise returning character." This made fans excited to find out who it would be.
