Moselle is a small community in southern Jones County, Mississippi. It is known as a census-designated place, which means the government counts its population for official records. However, it is an unincorporated community, so it does not have its own local government like a city or town. Moselle is also part of the larger Laurel micropolitan area.

History of Moselle
Moselle has its own post office, and its ZIP code is 39459. The community is located along the Norfolk Southern Railway line. Moselle was officially made a town on December 14, 1905. At some point later, it stopped being an official town, but people still live there. The 2020 Census was the first time Moselle was listed as a "census-designated place." This census counted 304 people living in Moselle.
Where is Moselle Located?
Moselle is found along U.S. Route 11. It is north of a place called Eastabuchie and southwest of Laurel. The Leaf River flows west of Moselle. The Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport is also located to the west of the community.
