Mossville is located between the cities of Peoria and Chillicothe. It sits near the northern part of Peoria. The area is centered around the Illinois River valley. History and Development
Mossville has some interesting history. An old building called Grant's Inn was already standing a long time ago. It was there even before Abraham Lincoln gave his famous speech in Peoria.

A big company called Caterpillar Inc. has a major presence in Mossville. In the 1960s, Caterpillar built its Technical Research Center here. This is where they do a lot of their research and development. They also had factories in Mossville.
