Mouna Esmaeilzadeh (Persian: مونا اسماعیل زاده; born April 15, 1980) is a Swedish-Iranian medical doctor, neuroscientist, and entrepreneur. She is also a well-known TV personality. Mouna earned her Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Stockholm Brain Institute at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden.

She often appears on Swedish national television to discuss exciting topics. These topics include science, technology, the brain (neuroscience), and how to start new businesses (entrepreneurship). A former secretary of the Nobel Committee, Alf Lindberg, has called Mouna one of the top experts in the "future of health." She has received several awards, including the "MENSA award of the Year." She also won the "Fact-based Optimist of the Year Award," which was given out with Google by Warp Institute.

About Mouna Esmaeilzadeh

Mouna Esmaeilzadeh was born in Tehran, Iran. When she was three years old, she and her family moved to Sweden as refugees. She grew up just outside Stockholm. Her older brother is Saeid Esmaeilzadeh, who is also a successful entrepreneur. Mouna is married to Rasmus Ingerslev, a Danish entrepreneur who helped start Barry's Bootcamp.

Mouna's Education Journey

Mouna started her university studies by learning about Philosophy at Stockholm University. She then completed her master's degree in Philosophy at the University of Oslo. After that, she decided to study medicine. She earned her medical license from Karolinska Institutet in 2005.

In 2011, she received her Ph.D. in neuroscience. Her research focused on how the brain's dopamine system works. During her Ph.D. studies, she also started the first Philosophical Club at the Karolinska Institute.

Mouna as an Entrepreneur

Mouna Esmaeilzadeh has started several successful businesses. She uses her knowledge of science and health to create new companies.

SciLife Clinic

In 2009, Mouna founded SciLife Clinic. This was one of the first clinics in the world focused on "longevity." Longevity means living a long and healthy life. SciLife Clinic was the first medical clinic in Sweden to use advanced techniques like genetic mapping. This helped them find ways to prevent serious diseases like cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Mouna became the personal doctor for many important people. These included business leaders, artists, and even royalty. She sold the clinic in 2016 but still gives advice to others.

Esmaeilzadeh Holding (EHAB)

In 2020, Mouna co-founded a family investment company called Esmaeilzadeh Holding, or EHAB. She started this company with her brother, Saeid Esmaeilzadeh. They believed that their experience as entrepreneurs made them better investors. They also felt that being investors made them better at starting new businesses.

EHAB invests in and helps grow many different companies. These companies range from those using AI to dental clinics. Mouna has been the executive chairman of the board for EHAB since it began.
