About Mount Allison
Where is Mount Allison?
Mount Allison is a mountain that stands alongside other peaks like Mission Peak and Monument Peak. These mountains form a line, or "ridge," in the Diablo Range.
Unlike its neighbors, Mount Allison is on land that belongs to a private company. This means it's not open to the public like some other mountain areas.
Broadcasting Antennas
Mount Allison is home to a very tall antenna. This antenna is owned by a company called Communication and Control, Inc. (CCI). It helps broadcast TV signals for two Spanish-language channels, Univision (channel 14) and Telemundo (channel 48).
The main antenna was put up on February 25, 1998. It stands about 443 feet (135 meters) tall and has three prongs at the very top. There are also several smaller towers and dishes on the mountain. Another TV station, KTSF, moved its transmitters to Mount Allison on May 7, 2018. Before that, its transmitters were on San Bruno Mountain.
