How Did Mount Brazeau Get its Name?
The mountain received its name in 1902. It was named by Arthur P. Coleman, who was an explorer and geologist. He named it after Joseph Edward Brazeau. Joseph Brazeau was a very helpful person who used his language skills to translate for the Palliser expedition. The Palliser expedition was an important journey that explored parts of western Canada between 1857 and 1860.

The first recorded climb to the summit of Mount Brazeau happened in 1923. A team of climbers, including A. Carpe, W.D. Harris, and Howard Palmer, successfully reached the top.
