Mount Fromme is a mountain located in British Columbia, Canada. It is part of the North Shore Mountains near Vancouver. If you look north from the Burrard Inlet, you can clearly see three mountains: Grouse Mountain, Mount Seymour, and Mount Fromme.
Mount Fromme is very famous for mountain biking. It has many trails that helped create a special "North Shore" riding style. Many of these trails are part of the NSMBA (North Shore Mountain Biking Association). Some companies even help pay to keep the trails in good shape. Mount Fromme has trails for all skill levels, from easy green trails to super hard "triple red" trails.

Mountain Biking Adventures
Mount Fromme is a super popular spot for mountain bikers, especially in the summer. To reach the trails, bikers ride up a gravel path called Mountain Highway. Cars are usually not allowed on this path. The path eventually leads up towards Grouse Mountain.
The easier biking trails are usually found lower down the mountain. The harder trails are higher up. Most of the trails are located below the seventh switchback (a sharp turn) on the path.
Discovering the Trails
Mount Fromme has about 40 mountain biking trails in total. Some trails are no longer used because they are not maintained. Companies can help sponsor trails to keep them open and safe for riders.
Bobsled Trail
Bobsled is the most popular trail on Mount Fromme. You can find it just past the first switchback on Mountain Highway. This trail is known for being fast and smooth. It feels a bit like a pump track with lots of turns (called berms), bumps, and jumps. There are also some wooden bridges and small drops.
Bobsled is rated as a green/blue trail. This means it's a green (easy) if you ride around the tricky parts. But it becomes a blue (medium) if you try the jumps and drops.
Baden-Powell Trail
The Baden-Powell Trail is mainly for hiking. However, many mountain bike trails end at different spots along this trail. Bikers use it to get back to Mountain Highway. This trail has wooden bridges and some tricky rock sections. The Baden-Powell Trail is rated as a blue (medium) trail.
Floppy Bunny Trail
Floppy Bunny is another popular trail. You'll find it before Bobsled as you climb up Mountain Highway. This trail is rated as a black diamond (hard). However, you can ride it as a blue (medium) if you skip the optional jumps. It does have some wooden features that you must ride over.
Hiking on Mount Fromme
Mount Fromme also offers some great hiking trails. Some trails are shared, meaning both bikers and hikers can use them. Other trails are just for hiking.
For example, the St. Georges trail connects the Baden-Powell Trail to Mountain Highway. The Per Gynt trail connects the seventh switchback to past the eighth.
The trail to the very top of Mount Fromme goes through a younger forest. It climbs about 350 meters (1,150 feet) to the summit. From the top, or even the false summit, you can see amazing views of other mountains like Cathedral Mountain, Mount Burwell, and Mount Baker. The summit usually has snow until late June.
