Mount Vernon is located on the eastern side of Faulkner County. Its eastern border is also the line for White County.
A road called Arkansas Highway 36 goes through Mount Vernon. If you go north on this road, you'll reach Rose Bud in about 9 miles. If you head southwest for about 17 miles, you'll get to U.S. Route 64 near Hamlet. Conway, which is the main city of Faulkner County, is about 25 miles southwest of Mount Vernon.
